I am a 35-year-old Brit who has grown up and lives in Austria till this day. I speak both English and German proficiently.
As a teenager, I was an exchange student and attended high school in Austin, Texas for a full school year. This unique experience broadened my English language skills and allowed me to immerse myself in American culture.
In my late teens/early twenties, I worked as an English and a German teacher for the European Language Centre at their center in Oberwesel, Germany for three consecutive summers. Through this job role I further developed my language skills, having to pay particular attention to grammar and spelling in both German and English.
At the age of 18, I qualified as a ski instructor in Austria. I stuck with this passion and by the age of 25, I made myself self-employed along with three other partners. Since 2012, we own and successfully run Ski Instructor Academy GmbH & Co KG in Austria. Our company specializes on ski & snowboard instructor training courses and gap year courses within the snowsports industry.
Additionally, I would like to take on a personal new challenge and put my language skills to better use by developing my interest in transcribing. I am a quick typer and pay special attention to spelling. That is why I would like to explore working as a freelance transcriber on your website.
