The Serbian baritone Lazar Parežanin was born in 2001 in Belgrade and is currently studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in the class of Prof. Martin Vacha. In the previous academic year, he participated in the Swiss-European Mobility Programme at the Zurich University of the Arts, studying with Prof. Markus Eiche.
As a young artist, Parežanin has already received recognition at various international competitions, most notably winning First Prize and the Special ENOA Award (European Network of Opera Academies) at the international “Bruna Spiler” competition in 2023. That same year, he also appeared at the Operosa Festival in Montenegro.
During his studies, he has gained valuable stage experience through a variety of productions both within and beyond the university. His roles have included Gianni Schicchi in G. Puccini Gianni Schicchi (Schlosstheater Schönbrunn), Martino in Rossini’s L’occasione fa il ladro (Theater an der Wien / Kammeroper), Dr. Cajus in O. Nicolai’s Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor (Schlosstheater Schönbrunn), and performances in Monteverdi’s Combattimenti(Theater an der Wien / Kammeroper).
