I have been working for one of the largest logistics companies in the world for almost 12 years and have held positions at different levels in many different departments. I can say that experiencing different departments helped me look at things from different perspectives and gain experience on how a company works in general. Another positive aspect of working in different departments is that, in addition to learning the general functioning, communicating with different people and observing their mindsets has increased my experience and way of thinking. Apart from my career experience, having a degree in finance and taxation helps me a lot in approaching the general issues in business life. I have managed different products in logistics such as air freight, ocean freight and logistics and distribution as well. Managing different products provides you a lot of different experiences because each of them has their own market dynamics and their own customer mindset. You need to approach each product in a different way, and you need to understand their needs to gain new customers or to keep them in the house.
