Mohammad A. AlKazimi

A dynamic and results-driven professional with over 20 years of distinguished experience in the petroleum industry, currently serving as the Chief Upstream Oil Industry Analyst at OPEC’s Energy Studies Department. This role involves analyzing and forecasting medium- to long-term oil supply prospects and overseeing upstream exploration and production costs. Expertise in energy policies and technological advancements drives impactful improvements in oil recovery rates, production, and costs.

The career is marked by an unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation. Prior to joining OPEC in March 2018, significant contributions were made as a Senior Engineer at Kuwait Oil Company, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of equipment across various production facilities in Kuwait.

Academic achievements are equally impressive, holding a Ph.D. And a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology (USA). Additionally, an MBA in Energy Management from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (Austria), and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Toledo have been earned.
