Mechatronics & Software Engineer

  • Developed and integrated firmware for EO/IR/OGI (Optical Gas Imaging) sensors into hardware using sensor APIs and SDKs for gimbal systems.
  • Conducted data analysis to enhance image quality and overall system performance.
  • Applied dynamic key radiometric correction algorithms, including atmospheric, emissivity, reflective temperature, and non-uniformity correction (NUC), ensuring thermal imaging accuracy.
  • Developed advanced algorithms for thermal imaging, such as auto level & range, hot spot tracking, region of interest (ROI), and anomaly detection.
  • Built RTSP/RTP servers utilizing TCP/IP, UDP, Winsock2, GStreamer, and FFmpeg for video streaming and encoding/decoding.
  • Managed Gimbal Control Unit (GCU) communications and implemented socket programming for seamless integration of camera and sensor data.
  • Established RTSP/RTP video pipelines for efficient data transmission.
  • Developed both backend and frontend interfaces using Qt and GDI+ (Windows API), incorporating features like color-maps, color-bars, and on-screen displays.

Working on optical flow and motion tracking algorithms to capture thermal traces in high-speed dynamic environments. Conducting preliminary studies on machine learning and deep learning methods for thermal anomaly detection and automatic thermal inspection, focusing on object and semantic segmentation as well as prediction. Developing real-time inspection methods by assigning IDs to each infrastructure component to determine their coordinates and automating data collection for real-time analysis.
